Terms of service
The rules for using srvScripts: the free tools, scripts and guides, accounts, srvScripts Pro, and paid fixes and services.
These terms apply to everyone who uses srvscripts.com and its subdomains (the “site”), including the free online tools, downloadable scripts, guides, reviews, accounts, srvScripts Pro and any paid service. By using the site or buying anything from us you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
“srvScripts”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean the independent business that runs this site. Our full legal name and postal address are shown on every invoice and receipt and are available on request through the contact page. “You” means the person using the site, or the organisation you act for.
1. Who can use the site
- You must be at least 18 years old, or old enough to enter a binding contract where you live, to create an account or buy anything.
- If you use the site for a company or other organisation, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for it, and “you” includes that organisation.
- You must not use the site if you are barred from doing so under the laws that apply to you, including sanctions and export-control laws.
2. The free tools
Our online tools (DNS, email, SSL, blacklist, network and website checks, calculators, AI tools and monitors) are offered free of charge, as they are, for information and troubleshooting.
- Only test what you are allowed to test. Run network, port, SMTP, traceroute, ping and similar checks only against domains, servers and IP addresses that you own or have permission to test. Do not use the tools to probe, map, attack or harass third-party systems.
- Fair use. Each tool has limits per visitor and per day so the service stays fast for everyone. Do not get around them with scripts, rotating IP addresses or multiple accounts. Automated or bulk use needs our written permission or a Pro plan that includes the API.
- Results can be wrong. Results depend on DNS caches, third-party blacklists, public data sources and network conditions at the moment of the test. They are a starting point, not a guarantee. Check anything important before you act on it.
- AI tools. AI output can be incomplete or wrong. Read every command, script and configuration before you run it, and test it somewhere safe first. Do not paste passwords, private keys or personal data into an AI tool; we try to remove secrets automatically, but you are responsible for what you submit.
- Email deliverability test. Messages sent to a test address are analysed automatically and deleted straight after the analysis; the report is kept for 30 days so you can share it. Only send messages you are entitled to send, and do not send other people’s personal data.
3. Scripts, guides and other content
- Guides, reviews, scripts, images and the design of the site are protected by copyright and belong to us or our licensors.
- Scripts published on srvScripts are released under the MIT License unless a script page says otherwise; that licence governs how you may use, change and share them. Scripts in the Pro library may come with a different licence, shown on their page.
- You may quote short extracts of our guides with a link to the original page. Copying whole guides or large parts of the site is not allowed.
- Run scripts at your own risk. Read them first, test them on a non-production system, and make a backup before you run anything that changes a server.
- Product names, logos and brands (for example cPanel, DirectAdmin, Plesk, Microsoft, Google, Cloudflare) belong to their owners. Their use on this site does not mean they endorse us.
4. Accounts
- Sign-in works with one-time links sent to your email address, so keep that email account secure, and tell us at once if you think someone else has used your srvScripts account. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- Give us accurate information and keep your email address up to date; we use it for receipts, alerts and important notices.
- An account is for one person. Keep your Tools API key private and rotate it if it leaks.
- Plan limits (monitors, tool checks, AI runs and API calls) are shown on the Pro page and may change with notice.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, is used for abuse or fraud, or has been inactive for more than 24 months. Where reasonable we will warn you first. You can close your account at any time from the account page or by contacting us.
5. srvScripts Pro
- Plans. Pro is offered as a monthly or a yearly plan. What each plan includes is described on the Pro page at the time you buy.
- Billing and renewal. Monthly and yearly plans renew automatically at the end of each period and are charged to the payment method you used, until you cancel. Prices are in US dollars. Taxes are added where the law requires it.
- Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from your account or in PayPal. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for and are not charged again. If you cancel a yearly plan early, you can instead ask for a pro-rata refund: the months you have used are charged at the monthly price and the rest of the yearly payment is refunded, as set out in the refund policy. Pro ends on the day the refund is made.
- Price changes. We may change prices for future periods. We will email you at least 30 days before a new price applies to your subscription, so you can cancel before it does.
- If we stop Pro. If we ever stop offering Pro, we will give at least 90 days’ notice and refund the unused part of any period you have paid for.
- Changes to features. We improve Pro over time and may change, replace or retire individual features, but we will not remove the core of a plan you have paid for during the paid period without offering a fair partial refund.
- Refunds are covered by our refund policy.
6. Paid fixes and services
This section covers fixed-price fixes bought on Get it fixed, prepaid hours, and work we quote for, such as server management, migrations, security hardening and automation.
- Scope. We do the work described in the package you bought or in your written quote. Anything outside that scope is extra work, done only after you agree to it in writing (email is enough), at the hourly rate or a new quote.
- Your authority. You confirm that you own the systems, domains and accounts you ask us to work on, or that you have the owner’s permission, and that giving us access does not break any agreement you have with your host or provider.
- Backups are your responsibility. Before we start, make sure you have a current, working backup of every system we will touch. We take reasonable care, but server work always carries some risk, and we are not responsible for data you could have restored from a backup.
- Access and security. Give us access through a temporary SSH key, a separate panel or DNS login, or a similar method that you can revoke. Never send passwords by email or in a form. Remove our access when the work is done; we delete any credentials we hold once the job is finished.
- Your cooperation. Some work needs you to act, for example to approve a change, add a DNS record at your registrar or ask your host to set reverse DNS. Timelines pause while we wait for you. If we have not heard back within 30 days, we may close the job and treat the paid scope as delivered for the steps we completed.
- Results outside our control. We cannot control third parties. Blacklist operators decide on removals, mailbox providers decide where mail lands, and registrars and hosts decide how fast changes take effect. We promise to do the agreed work properly; we do not promise a particular decision by a third party, a particular inbox placement or a particular test score, unless a package says so explicitly.
- Confidentiality. We keep your data, configurations and business information confidential, use them only to do the work, and do not share them except with your permission or where the law requires it.
- Reports. After the work we send a short written report of what we changed. You may use it freely.
7. Payment
- Payments are processed by PayPal. You can pay with a PayPal balance or a debit or credit card through PayPal; we never see or store your full card details.
- Prices shown at checkout are the prices you pay. The amount is always calculated on our server, so a manipulated price in the browser is rejected.
- If a payment is reversed or charged back without a valid reason, we may suspend the related account or service until it is resolved. Please contact us first; most problems are solved quickly.
8. Things you must not do
- break the law, or help anyone else to do so;
- attack, overload, scan or test the security of the site or our servers, or try to get around rate limits, access controls or payment checks (report security issues to us responsibly instead, see our security.txt);
- use the site to send spam, phishing or malware, or to test whether such messages get through filters;
- upload content that is unlawful, infringes someone else’s rights, or contains other people’s personal data without a lawful basis;
- copy, scrape or resell the tools, their results or our content in bulk;
- pretend to be someone else, or suggest that we endorse you when we do not.
9. Content you send us
Comments, messages, support tickets and other content you submit stay yours. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display and use that content to run and improve the site and to deliver what you asked for. If you post a public comment, others can see it. We may remove content that breaks these terms.
10. Links, affiliates and third-party services
The site links to other websites and services that we do not control. Some links are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you; see the affiliate disclosure. Your use of third-party services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
11. No warranty
We work hard to keep the site accurate, available and secure, but the free tools, scripts, guides and AI output are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that they are error-free, uninterrupted or suitable for a particular purpose. Paid services come with the promises set out in section 6 and in your quote, and with any rights that the law gives you and that cannot be excluded.
12. Limits of our liability
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for wilful misconduct, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
- Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue, business, goodwill or data, whether or not we could foresee it.
- Subject to that, our total liability arising from or in connection with the site or any service in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period for the service concerned, or US$100 if you used only free features.
- We are not responsible for loss caused by your own systems, missing backups, instructions you gave us, third parties, or events outside our reasonable control.
- If you are a consumer, these limits apply only as far as the consumer law of your country allows.
13. Indemnity
If you use the site for business, you will cover our reasonable costs and losses (including legal costs) arising from a claim by a third party caused by your breach of these terms, your misuse of the tools, or content or instructions you provided. This does not apply where the loss was caused by our own fault.
14. Suspension and ending
You may stop using the site at any time. We may suspend or end your access to all or part of the site if you break these terms, if your use puts other users or our systems at risk, or if the law requires it. Where a paid service ends because of our decision and not because of your breach, we refund the unused part. Sections that by their nature should continue (for example 3, 11, 12, 13 and 17) continue after the agreement ends.
15. Events outside our control
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events we cannot reasonably control, such as outages at hosting, network, DNS or payment providers, attacks, natural events or government action. We will tell you and do what we reasonably can to limit the effect.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add services or the law changes. The date at the bottom shows the latest version. If a change materially affects a paid plan you have, we will tell you by email at least 30 days in advance. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
17. Law and disputes
- If something goes wrong, please contact us first. We will try to resolve it within 30 days.
- These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the business behind srvScripts is established, as stated on your invoice, and the courts of that place have jurisdiction.
- If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts there. We are not obliged to take part in consumer arbitration, but we will consider it in good faith.
18. General
- If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest stays in force.
- If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent. We may transfer ours to a business that takes over srvScripts, and will tell you if that happens.
- These terms, together with the privacy policy, cookie policy, refund policy, disclaimer and any quote or order confirmation, are the whole agreement between you and us about the site.
19. Contact
Questions about these terms: use the contact page. We reply within one business day (Monday to Friday, 09:00–18:00 UTC).
