This CloudTalk review looks at the platform as a business phone system and small call center, from the point of view of the admin who sets it up and the manager who pays for it. CloudTalk is fully hosted: agents use a web dialer, desktop app or mobile app, and there is no PBX or SIP trunk to maintain. It stands out for call routing features on every plan and for local numbers in more than 160 countries.
Short answer: CloudTalk is a good choice for small and mid-sized support or sales teams that need proper queues and IVR from day one, especially across several countries. Plans start at $25 per user per month billed annually ($34 monthly) with a one-licence minimum. Choose Essential ($29 annual) if you need CRM or helpdesk integrations, and Expert ($49 annual, three licences minimum) for the included power dialer and Salesforce integration. Dialers and AI analysis are add-ons on the lower plans.

How we reviewed it
This review is based on CloudTalk’s published plans, feature lists and documentation, checked on 30 September 2026, and compared against what offices typically need when leaving an on-premises PBX. We will add our own call-quality measurements in a future update.
Who it is for
Support desks, inside sales teams, clinics and service businesses that route calls between groups of agents, and companies that need local numbers in many countries. Because the lower plans accept a single licence, it also works for a founder or a two-person office that wants a professional IVR and queue from the start.
What you get
- Calling: unlimited calls to the US and Canada, or domestic calling across the EU, UK, Iceland and Norway (limited to 500 outbound domestic calls on Starter, unlimited from Essential); free internal and inbound calls.
- Numbers: local numbers in 160+ countries, number porting and anti-spam number protection; branded caller ID is an add-on.
- Call handling: recording, transfers, ring groups, queues, queue callback, IVR, skill-based and time-based routing, VIP queues and a visual call flow builder on every plan.
- Messaging: international SMS/MMS, WhatsApp and fax listed on the plans.
- Integrations: 95+ CRM, helpdesk and ATS integrations, APIs and webhooks from Essential; Salesforce and Microsoft Teams integrations on Expert.
- Dialers and AI: smart dialer from Essential; power dialer included on Expert or $15 per user per month as an add-on; parallel dialer and AI conversation intelligence are add-ons; AI voice agents are priced separately.

Paying annually saves roughly 30%. CloudTalk also offers a custom plan for larger contact centres, and a 14-day free trial.
Deployment notes for IT
No inbound SIP ports are needed; agents connect outbound from the browser or apps. Allow outbound HTTPS and UDP media, turn off SIP ALG on the office router if you use desk phones, and prioritise voice traffic with QoS. The VoIP call quality guide explains the jitter and packet loss targets to check at each site before rollout.
What could be better
- Starter has no CRM or helpdesk integrations, which many teams need.
- Several useful features are add-ons, so the real per-user price can rise quickly.
- The three-licence minimum on Expert makes the included power dialer expensive for very small teams.
Alternatives
JustCall includes SMS and integrations from its first plan and has stronger AI coaching at the top tier, but needs two licences minimum; see the JustCall vs CloudTalk comparison. If you would rather keep your own PBX, 3CX or Asterisk with a SIP trunk remains an option; our SIP ports firewall guide covers the network side.
Verdict
CloudTalk gives small teams real call-center routing and numbers in almost any country without a large commitment. Start on Essential if you use a CRM, test call quality during the free trial, and add dialers or AI only when the team actually needs them.
