Server Slow or High Load? Linux Performance Fix by the Hour

We find the bottleneck, fix it and show you the numbers before and after. Hourly work at $39 an hour.

Short answer: a server with a high load average, slow websites or 503 and 508 errors is usually limited by one thing: a slow database query, too few or too many PHP workers, bots crawling heavy pages, swap, a full disk or a noisy neighbour account. We find which resource is the bottleneck, fix it, and tell you plainly if the answer is more hardware, as hourly work at $39 an hour. Plan for one to two hours for the diagnosis and first fixes.

Signs this is your problem

  • The load average stays above the number of CPU cores, or the server freezes at busy times.
  • Websites are slow or show 503 Service Unavailable, 508 Resource Limit Reached or “server reached pm.max_children”.
  • MySQL or MariaDB uses most of the CPU, or you see “Too many connections”.
  • The server swaps, or the out-of-memory killer stops MySQL or PHP.
  • Disk I/O wait is high, backups run during business hours, or the disk is nearly full.

What we do

  1. Measure before changing anything: CPU, memory, swap, disk I/O wait and network, with history where the server keeps it (sar, atop or panel statistics).
  2. Find the processes and accounts responsible, including CloudLinux LVE limits on shared servers.
  3. Check the database: slow query log, missing indexes, buffer pool size and connection limits.
  4. Tune PHP-FPM or LSAPI workers to the memory you actually have, and check OPcache.
  5. Look at traffic: aggressive crawlers, XML-RPC or login floods, and uncached pages that bots hit repeatedly.
  6. Make the changes, measure again, and send a report with the before and after numbers and what we would do next.

How the hourly work is billed

  • You buy prepaid hours on the Get it fixed page, used in 15-minute steps and recorded in the report.
  • Plan for one to two hours for the diagnosis and the obvious fixes. We tell you before using more time than you bought.
  • Unused time is refunded on request within 90 days, or kept as credit (refund policy).
  • If the honest answer is that the server is too small, we say so and tell you what size you need instead of billing more tuning.

What we need from you

  • Root SSH through a temporary key, or a WHM or DirectAdmin admin login. Never send passwords by email or in the order form.
  • When the slowness happens (time of day, specific sites or actions) and anything that changed recently.
  • Permission to restart services such as PHP-FPM or the web server during the work, or a maintenance window if restarts must wait.

Prefer to do it yourself?

See High load cPanel server: find the culprit fast, cPanel PHP-FPM tuning, MariaDB slow queries and MySQL too many connections. The PHP-FPM calculator and the MySQL health snapshot script give you numbers to start from.

Frequently asked questions

Will you just tell me to buy a bigger server?

Only if the measurements show it. Most slow servers have a specific cause, such as one heavy query or badly sized PHP workers, that costs nothing to fix. If the server really is too small, we tell you what size would be enough.

Will the sites go down during the work?

Measuring causes no downtime. Some fixes need a service restart that takes a few seconds; we agree the timing with you first.

Do you work on CloudLinux and LiteSpeed?

Yes. We check LVE limits and statistics on CloudLinux, and LiteSpeed or OpenLiteSpeed settings as well as Apache and Nginx.

How many hours should I buy?

Start with one or two. That covers the diagnosis and the obvious fixes. We tell you what else is worth doing and roughly how long it takes before using more time.

Free website test

Is your website set up right?

Check SSL, security headers, redirects, robots.txt, sitemap, llms.txt and security.txt in one test. It takes about 30 seconds.
